WHY YOU’LL LOVE IT
When you have the basics of your regimen down and skin health optimized, there are some instances where you may deal with stubborn blemishes. One of the underlying contributors in these cases can be microbiome imbalances caused by various environmental factors.
These cases are what Biome is designed for — a carefully-crafted, microbiome-targeted formulation inspired by working one-on-one with the Sana community.
HOW TO USE
Active Regimen: Apply 1-3 drops to areas of active breakouts after serums and before SPF (AM and PM). Apply as needed when you feel a blemish beginning to form. Alternatively, mix 1-3 drops with Clarity or Vitale and apply all over the skin from preventative and comprehensive microbiome support.
Maintenance Regimen: During periods of skin clarity, mix 1 drop of Biome with Clarity or Vitale to maintain microbiome balance.

KEY INGREDIENTS
HIGH LINOLEIC LIPIDS
Our finely-tuned oil blend corrects the linoleic acid deficiency in acne-prone skin to restore the natural lipid balance necessary for skin clarity.
BIOME BALANCE BLEND
A blend of supercritical Black Cumin, Manuka Tree, and Rosalina synergize to address the growth of acne-causing microorganisms like C. acnes, Malassezia spp., Candida albicans, and S. aureus.
SANTALUM PANICULATUM OIL
Santalum paniculatum, a sustainably-sourced species of Sandalwood, is rich in blemish-fighting, skin-balancing alpha-santalol. This unique plant compound is also a powerful tyrosinase-inhibitor, delivering brighter, more even skin over time.
OUR PHILOSOPHY — ACNEIC SKIN
WHY LINOLEIC ACID?
Linoleic acid is an essential omega with key functions for skin health and clarity. As a building block of ceramides, healthy levels of linoleic acid in the skin ensures a resilient skin barrier. Simultaneously, linoleic acid offers antibacterial, anti-inflammatory, and blemish-fighting properties — making it a star ingredient for acne-prone skin types.
Frequently Asked Questions
Formula
Is Biome a facial oil?
Yes, Biome is a facial oil spot serum. It’s made with a combination of linoleic acid-rich oil extracts and lipids for a fast-absorbing, nourishing formula safe for all skin types.
Don’t oils cause breakouts?
Most oil-based products are made with oils containing high levels of comedogenic omega-9 fatty acids (like jojoba oil, argan oil, sunflower oil, etc). On the other hand, the oils in our serums are carefully selected for their high levels of anti-inflammatory, barrier-repairing, clarifying linoleic acid. Apart of your daily skincare routine, our serums create the ideal lipid environment for healthy, vibrant skin.
Why does Biome contain essential oils? Aren’t they bad for your skin?
The topic of essential oils is a complex conversation (and understandably so).
While there are plenty of essential oils that we would never recommend using on the skin, not all essential oils are created equal.
To put it simply, each essential oil is unique in its phytochemical profile (and should be treated as such). Some can be irritating or disruptive to the skin — like the exceptionally high limonene content in citrus oils. On the other hand, there are many that can be therapeutic. One example (of many) therapeutic essential oils is the clarifying blue tansy — a distillation rich in soothing, anti-inflammatory, chamazulene.
Here at Sana Haus, our essential oil philosophy is this: we consider essential oils for their therapeutic, bioactive properties — like their ability to dampen inflammation, soothe irritation, or support a healthier skin barrier — at very conservative dosages. So, you can rest assured that the essential oils we select for our formulas, when we do, have been carefully chosen to support the health of your skin.
And yet, even still, it’s of the utmost importance to acknowledge: there are still skin types that may not benefit from essential oils, period — no matter how therapeutic.
Above all, you are the expert on your unique skin blueprint. We trust your ability to tune into your skin needs at any given moment. And we’ll always strive to provide you with the tools to meet them. That's why we offer essential oil-free formulas.
Skin Compatibility
Can I use Biome if I have fungal acne?
While Biome contains plenty of botanical ingredients that have antifungal activity, everyone’s skin microbiome is unique. We recommend patch testing first to ensure compatibility with your skin type.
Usage
Should I use Biome before or After Clarity?
You should use Biome after Clarity, focused on areas that need extra blemish support.
